At This Location:
The Graduate College, a complex of residential and dining areas for Princeton's graduate students, is located at the western edge of campus, where part of the Revolutionary War Battle of Princeton was fought. Crafted by Gothic Revival architect Ralph Adams Cram in 1913 and later expanded, the compound provides a peaceful setting for reflection and study. Cram also designed the University Chapel. The college's distinguishing feature is Cleveland Tower, named after U.S. President Grover Cleveland, who served as a University trustee and spent his retirement in Princeton. The 173-foot tower is topped by four limestone pinnacles and features a carillon of 67 bells, used to perform a Sunday concert series throughout the summer.
