As we begin 2025, you may have noticed a new login screen for Microsoft applications (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, etc). OIT made a security change on December 31 that signed everyone out of their Microsoft email and apps.
When signing in to Outlook and other Microsoft apps, staff will see a new screen that requires you to verify your identify with Duo two-factor authentication. The new screen prompts users to select “Approve with Duo Two-Factor Authentication” to complete the sign-in process for Microsoft-based applications and services. While the area may not look like a button, the area with the key is where you need to click to receive the Duo prompt and complete authentication (see image).
Below is a list of applications and services that may require re-authentication:
- Microsoft Outlook, OneDrive, Teams, Office, Copilot, Edge, Planner, To Do
- Apple Mail, Calendar, Notes, Reminders.
- Third-party plugins and services such as Zoom and Calendly.
No change to your Duo enrolled device(s) or your password is necessary. Additionally, this change should not affect the way you sign in to PeopleSoft, Grading/Advising, Google Workspace (Gmail, Drive, etc) or Canvas.
More details can be found in OIT's step-by-step guide and staff will also receive an email on Monday, January 6, 2025 via TigerAlert. If you still encounter issues, please email [email protected] or visit them on the lower level of MacMillan.
