Comprehensive introduction to molecular and thermodynamic principles underlying the structure and stability of proteins, nucleic acids, and membranes. Suitable for advanced undergraduate or beginning graduate students in any field, with only general chemistry as preparation. Special emphasis is placed on understanding the relationships between structure and stability; the molecular origins of cooperative effects; and the relationships between covalent and non-covalent properties and processes.
