The course is about the urgent need to develop principled leadership. It is based on one premise: a democratic form of government cannot exist if citizens distrust each other, and dishonesty is a form of life. The goal is to expose students who have expressed an interest in developing their leadership skills to the threats, risks, and challenges they will confront. Researching leadership techniques, values, and principles, students will explore how others have defied similar challenges in the past. Through lectures, readings, and case studies, students will have an opportunity to reflect and develop their own concept of effective leadership.
