Topics in Number Theory: Arithmetic Statistics

We study techniques to determine or bound the average sizes of Selmer sets and Selmer groups in families of elliptic curves and higher-dimensional abelian varieties, with applications to statistical questions about ranks, rational points, and solutions to Diophantine equations.
