For students with advanced training in modern Chinese, this course will help students gain deeper insights into the complexities of Sinophone cultures, while developing both linguistic proficiency and the ability to apply their skill effectively in academic and real-world settings. Course topics will cover cultural identities, pop culture, language education, the economy, environmentalism, law, and social discourse. It also includes interactive projects such as mock interviews and student-selected research topics related to Chinese-speaking communities.
