Info tab content
The history of modern sculpture is rife with controversy. Why do artistic ambitions and public expectations so often collide in this particular medium? We examine the scandals of sculpture through a series of case studies, from Rodin, Duchamp, and Brancusi to Hans Haacke, Richard Serra, and Sam Durant. We also delve into the status of monuments at times of upheaval, from the Russian Revolution to Black Lives Matter.
