This course is a survey of some contemporary work on Monism. There are many different kinds of Monism, but they are unified in thinking that, in various different areas, there is ultimately only one thing, or only one kind of thing. We look at several different arguments that have been given for Monism in metaphysics, in the philosophy of science, and in the philosophy of mind.
