Focusing on the Hebrew short story, this course, taught in Hebrew, introduces students to Modern Hebrew literature and the work of leading authors, including Nobel Laureate Shai Agnon and Etgar Keret. While the course will analyze Hebrew short stories as literary works of art, effort will be made to situate these texts in their proper historical context. Through reading, discussions, presentations, and written assignments, the course enables students to develop Hebrew language proficiency.
