The primary goal of this course is to elevate students' Chinese proficiency in both spoken and written to an advanced level. Course materials include readings and discussions based on scholarly journal articles, essays by prominent Chinese intellectuals, and recent popular films and TV shows that explore themes such as career development, consumer habits, and romantic relationships among the younger generation. Students will engage with a wide range of modern Chinese literary genres and language registers, as well as explore diverse topics relevant to contemporary China.
